Apparently this was graded on the same invoice as my issue 33. I decided while going after .5 graded copies, I’d still try for this one since my decision to get these graded with a ceiling grade of 1.8. This 1.0 fits right in. How this got white pages I’ll never know. And to think, it might have improved with a press

Not sure why I started collecting .5 graded copies. But I always like the partial photo covers. It always reminder me if playing with “Colorforms” when I was a kid. Namor the Sub-Mariner was always a favorite since he was one of the first heroes I was ever introduced too. It was issue 38 of his own series that did it, an issue out before I was born but many years after this FF issue. I’m proud to add this to my poor collection of the Fantastic Four. As of 10-May-2020:

I sit possible to get this whole run in a .5. I might just try, with the occasional highly graded 1.8. as you will see with issue 61. But let's face it, this series could get expensive even with every book in a 1.8 or lower.

I first read this in a compiled book. It was so long ago I forgot I read it until I reread it. This made me decide to get this copy graded, which was given to me after I told them I love .5 low grade copies. I turned it over at the Keystone ComicCon in 2019 to have it graded. Very happy it came back the .5 grade I wanted.

Let's face it, it is easy to find most comic books, it's difficult to find the same comic book in the grade you want. I was first introduced to the Fantastic Four in the eighties. It was during this time that the Thing changed places with She-Hulk. And as much as I enjoyed learning about the team, I was soon lost when the series got to issue 300. After getting annuals 2 and 5, I think it would be more simpler to get all the annuals from 1-7 that it will to get the first seven issues.

The Annuals should count. I always enjoyed the annuals in the eighties. And although Doctor Doom is predominately on the cover, nothing beets him on the cover of Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars issue 10.
Plot Description by CLZ
in the lead story we learn the history of Doctor Doom. His mother was killed when he was but a child, and his father was a gypsy healer. When his father failed to save the life of a Baroness (through no fault of his own) he was killed, leaving Victor an orphan in the care of Boris. Victor then learned his mother was a sorceress, and swore to use all he knew both science and magic to bring the world under his control. He attended state university where he met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. Ignoring Richards' advice to double check his numbers, he tried a dangerous experiment to contact the...
