Issue #28 features the first appearance of Villainy Incorporated, (Eviless, Giganta, Queen Clea, Dr. Poison, Hypnota, Mara, Cheetah, and Blue Snow Man). Our 9.4 is tied with one other copy for highest graded. We acquired the book from another private collector in December 2024. Of note, the acquisition of this book completed our run between Issues #20-#42 of this title, so we are making a little progress.

Issue #29 features the first appearance of Minister Blizzard. Our 9.4 is an upgrade over the Promise Collection 9.2 and is currently the single highest graded example in the census. We acquired the book from the Metropolis Comic Exchange.*

While just a 8.0, our book is one of the top three CGC copies of the first appearance of Circe! This issue features cover and art by Wonder Woman legend H. G. Peter. The book comes from the “Christine Farrell Complete DC Collection” and is bested only by the Promise Collection 9.4, which has writing all over the cover, and IMHO is seriously overgraded-as are many Promise Collection books.
The cover with Wonder Woman opening a tomb to find herself inside-perfectly preserved I might add-is probably the most popular WW cover in the entire run, so examples are always pricey. Needless to say, we expended many multiples of the registry points awarded on this one and far more than we wanted, but we had already lost the other 8.0 and the Promise book, so we swallowed hard and paid up. I do believe it is my favorite GA cover and, along with the Sphinx cover of Issue #113, my favorite of the entire run. We acquired the book in the 10/25/2024 Heritage Auction.

Issue #213 features the origin and first appearance of the Mirror Man (Floyd Ventris). Our 9.2 is unfortunately marred by an “s” from a grease pen on the cover, but it is nonetheless the single highest graded copy in existence. We acquired the book from the 11/19/2022 Heritage Auction.

Issue #225 is a major Detective key featuring the Origin and first appearance of, J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter, who was the first significant introduction of a new superhero during the 1950s. It's not readily available in high grades, with only three grading VF/NM 9.0 or better. The Batman and Robin cover is by Win Mortimer, and story art is by Sheldon Moldoff, Joe Certa, and Ruben Moreira. The books is currently one of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics.
Our 8.0 is bested by only four copies. We acquired the book from the 11/21/2024 Heritage Auction;
