I found this bad boy at a local Saver's in a pile of old Star Wars and Archie Books. I got my #3 and #8 at the same time. The #3 came back lower than I hoped, but this one was higher then I thought. I will keep this book as long as I can. It was luck finding it.

This one looks better then it was graded. Beautiful cover with iconic image.
On the road to Atlanta Rick overcomes a few setbacks. When he reaches Atlanta, he meets a young survivor named Glenn. Glen takes him to a small camp of survivors where he is reunited with his wife, Lori Grimes, and his son, Carl Grimes.

This was the hardest issue to find, my me so far, that was in good shape. Everytime I got one it was 1/2 destroyed. Very cool cover, and story leading up to Shane's death.
After Shane persuades Rick that the group needs to stay near Atlanta, Rick feels the group needs more guns. Rick and Glenn make a trip into the city limits to get more guns, but not without trouble. Lori is keeping a secret from Rick.

My favorite cover, and I managed to get one that was almost in gem condition. This is one of my favorites. They used such beautiful artwork on the early issues.
The group mourns for those that have died. Shane pulls a gun on Rick and is about to shoot him when Carl shoots him in the neck.

This issue, in my opinion, is the most beautiful of all of all of the covers that they have ever done.
I love the artwork on the early issues, and feel, like many others, that the covers went downhill in that department for a few years. Just recently, with issues #104 and up, have they started to come up with some cool ideas again.

#15 is one that I bought off the rack years ago, and kept in a steralite box with a bunch of others for years. When I sent in my #1 to get it graded I added it just for fun. When it came back as a 9.8 I couldn't believe it. It is one of my favorite covers in the series, if not my absolute favorite.

I have wanted this one since I first saw it. A great illustration of where Rick is at during this period.
Thomas wounds Andrea but she is saved by Rick. Rick establishes his new "You kill, you die" rule.

First off, I love the cover on this issue. It was my first CGC I ever bought. I know that some people prefer the blue 2nd edition, but I'd rather have this one.
Story wise, I love that in true horror fashion, like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, most of the gore is just implied. You don't need to see every little bit to get goosebumps from what you are seeing.
Michonne mutilates The Governor, leaving him for dead. She reaches the others and acts as if nothing had ever happened.

Another cool image from the bloody 40's. Still my favorite series within the series.
The Governor has returned with an army of soldiers. He opens fire, but their soldiers are outnumbered in the end. The Woodbury survivors withdraw, but Andrea and Rick have been shot.
