Columbus, OH The Commercial NB Ch. # (M)2605 PMG 20 $10 1882 VB Fr. 577 Radar SN 17471/T627529 pp D/117 dtd. Nov. 30, 1901. PMG commented Stains which are most evident on the front. Not a scarce bank, but there are only 3 other $10 VBs in the Kelly Census and this is the only radar. Nice dark stamped signatures of M. Hoffman, Cashier and G.A. Archer, President.

Connellsville, PA The First NB (E)2329 PMG 20 $10 1882 VB Fr. 576 Tillman | Morgan Radar Treasury SN 9076/T493394 pp F/118dtd. March 26, 1896. Chartered 4/8/76, Liquidated 6/22/28. Assumed circulation of 4861, Yough NB of Connellsville which liquidated in 3/3/13. Bank officers' signatures are from (Geo W.) Stauffer, Cashier and E.T. Norton stamped in blue ink and remain legible, albeit light, to this day. For 52 years, 3x10-20 sheets only and only a 193 of them VBs!

The Citizens is a scarce bank--this is only the second $10 Value Back to be reported. Evenly circulated and problem free with nice color and margins. Ten Dollars and National Bank are reminiscent of Walcutt's Gp 16 plate note of Towanda, PA (also the Citizens NB). The A in Dollars has the diagonal crossbar and the E in Ten matches the E in Five. Grove City, PA The Grove City NB Ch. # (E)5501 PMG 25Net $20 1882 VB Fr. 583 Binary SN 10100/T818898 pp A/118 dtd. Aug. 1, 1908 Second title on this Mercer County institution, having begun business as the Peoples NB in 1900, and changing to the Grove City name in 1908. This is the first auction appearance of a large size note in almost six years, and a Second Charter example is ten years. Redrawn signatures are the reason for the Net grade.
