1st X-23! Redemption seems to be on everyone's thoughts, for the first appearance of Laura Kinney as X-23, who is a clone. She'll go on to find out there are other clones, and that she is far from "unique", but may be the first of a "kind". I'm happy with the 9.2 grade, even after seeing this on sale in higher grade for lower prices. I paid $350! (pun intended but still true) With the success of the movie Logan, ground swell for this character has struck a chord with many a fan, me included! She's relevant, so relevant, with ever increasing relevancy! Hopeful for more X-23. She's snazzy nowadays in a suit similar to Wolverine, back in NYX she didn't have too much in the way of possessions though. She was getting those street smarts. Those may help, as problems are the same no matter how well off you are, and it is what you do with those lessons that give merit. All the more the hit taker will keep stamina, though mentors early on will seek to guide the "animal" spirit, only by prospering and seeing results will she gain the needed confidence. Self-confidence comes from the group, sometimes, and can help you see yourself and your usefulness. The tools we have sometimes come from only what we've experienced personally.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Hustlers!" Similar to the NYX #3 issue, the movie is where the Hustlers get over on the "John's" and starring Jennifer Lopez! At the prescreen they even had girls dancing on poles but no stripping, ha-ha. PG or maybe PG-13, though the movie was Rated R, the showing was at a regular theater. Color me silly, I was going to need it! ~ to paraphrase Green Day

Sweet Early Appearance of X-23! Hard to find in high grade black cover! Duncanville Bookstore find, a local comic shop, glad to have this slabbed and added to the registry. Flashy! Showing off that new jump suit. X-23 got to style and profile, make that Master Logan proud. He might feel somewhat responsible, but you've always got to let others learn and try to provide instruction and compassion. Still hopefully the attitude of Laura doesn't change to snobby, you've got to stay down to earth, or you'll be no earthly good. Making those life curves with ease, it's about to get smug up in here. Wolverine doesn't let her get high and mighty, and in this issue, she stays levelheaded with a bit of sobriety. Wolverine doesn't look drawn too badly either on the cover. Making it work with Craig Kyle and Mike Choi. Very striking but subtle in the building of a character with high hopes.
Complete with back cover picture of the Regular edition and the other variant, got to catch them all or X-23 will clone your comics and depreciate the value? Either way, I'm glad that I completed the set of issue #1!

X-23 -One Shot- Marjorie Liu story X-23 pure attitude! This comic was given to me as a prize in the CGC boards Grading contest hosted by ThirdGreenham after the Canadian variety, by musteatbrains who is a boardie that I will long remember for his generosity to spot me this cover and issue as a prize. Presents very well for the grade and is more attune to the perception that I have of X-23! She's all punk rocker in this book. Classic style and attitude. What has she got? An attitude! Making that business in the way she is accustomed, when she gets the lesson learned she'll be able to help others. That's the kind of hook in writing style along with art, with X-23, she keeps having to learn and teach life lessons, just like Logan. She's a "kid" compared to him though, still she has the attitude down pact! Taking the time from lessons learned she must carry it forward from here on out, in groups, as a team, and in the mind, heart, soul, and strength.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Green Eggs and Ham!" How fitting due to this comic having been given generously through the contest of the same name! That's the breaks and glad to have been a part of those early days with me on the boards. There are now other contests that I'm equally proud of!
