Synopsis:
The grand opening of Marion Ravenwood's Manhattan nightclub, The Raven's Nest, is disrupted by a series of mishaps. Indiana Jones—Ravenwood's silent partner—suspects local gangster Emil Marko is behind the incidents, but rejects the theory after discovering evidence that Marko had abandoned plans to persuade Ravenwood into installing casino games at the nightclub. Jones and Ravenwood then turn their attention to Jamal, the club's decorator. Jamal confesses, revealing his scheme to smuggle black market artifacts disguised as decorations, then destroy the evidence by bombing the club. Jamal's bomb detonates in the struggle that follows, killing him. Jones and Ravenwood narrowly escape, but The Raven's Nest is completely decimated.

Ivar Reiss, spurned son of wealthy industrialist Edgard Reiss, gets wind of the discovery and follows Jones to Peru. Reiss holds the archaeologists captive, intending to claim the gold of El Dorado for himself. After translating the tablet, Jones and Hale escape to the location specified in the ancient writing, near Escarta, Bolivia, where the pair finds a golden temple. Once captured, the pair are confronted by Ho himself, who reveals plans to overthrow the Chinese government. An explosion (from a bomb planted earlier by Cobb) frightens away Ho's men, and Ho retreats to a maze of subterranean caverns. Jones and Cobb follow and find Ho cowering near the ornate coffins of his ancestors. Shots are fired, leaving Ho dead and Cobb mortally wounded. Before he expires, Cobb makes Indy promise to get Ho's guns to the IRA.
