Owner's Description

The PA October 1, 1773 Resolution Series is the most common to obtain of colonial Pennsylvania Notes. There were 28,318 5s Shilling Notes issued. In 1773, Five (5s) Shillings is the closet equivalent to $1 Dollar, as the conversion rate is 4s 6p. I select this specimen for my 13 Colonial $1 Dollar Type Set for two reasons. First, there is only one known grade $1 PA-233 and I have seen few other un-grade Notes. Second, this specimen is an excellent example with the added bonus of a well-executed signature of “Charles Meredith,” who may be a distant relative. PMG has graded 110 Notes, with only 28 in higher grade then this AU55.
