Common enough during the Third Charter era, notes before that time are scarce with this note one of only four Brown Backs and the only $20 reported. The signatures of Cashier D(aniel) Annan and President Lloyd Lowndes are weak but there. Mr. Lowndes was governor of Maryland from 1896 to 1900.
