Owner Comments:

In 2012, Hungary changed their name from the Republic of Hungary to simply Hungary (Magyarország), prompting a type change for all circulating coinage to update the legend on the obverse to the new name.

This is the pattern issue of the 100 forint coin, for which 10 pieces were struck.

These 2012 pattern issues are extremely challenging to collect. While only 10 pieces were struck of each business strike type, no pieces were produced in other finishes, and 4 pieces of each type were reserved for the Hungarian National Collections. This leaves only 6 pieces that can be owned privately of each type.
