The 2012 Tuvalu Proof Silver Colorized Year of the Dragon coin features a lovely caricature-style design of a baby dragon that is a stunning illustration of the Perth Mint's world-renowned full-color minting techniques. The obverse depicts a representation of a baby dragon with a sackful of gifts. The Chinese character for ‘dragon', the inscription YEAR OF THE DRAGON, The Perth Mint's ‘P' mintmark and the 2012 year-date are also included in the design
The reverse shows Ian Rank-Broadley profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.
