Two different medals were struck to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the settlement of New Haven Ct. One is commonly called a type I and the other a type II. This is a bronze example of a type II, which in my opinion is the nicer of the two designs. Rich chocolate hues adorn the well struck and mark free surfaces of this medal. It is lustrous and even nicer in hand than it looks in the photos. NGC pop of 5 in MS-65 with only 1 higher. The overall rarity is R5 (76-200 known).
