Owner Comments:
This Centennial of The Constitution medal was struck to commemorate the centennial of the adoption of the United States Constitution. It is made of bronze and has the same George Morgan designed obverse as HK-125D. It was not included in either edition of the HK reference book; however, it is shown on John Raymond’s web site as Unlisted So-Called Dollar #267. The eye appeal of this piece is superb. Its surfaces are well struck, clean, and a rich chocolate brown color. They are also very glossy, with an almost glass-like appearance. Graded MS-66 by NGC, this piece is the finest known example of this medal. The overall rarity is listed on John Raymond’s web site as very rare (21-50 known). Note: Both the label in the holder for this medal and the NGC census incorrectly attribute it as a GW-1011 President of the convention / Independence Hall medal which has a different, though similar obverse.
