Owner Comments:

This piece is a very rare, seldom seen medal. It is undated, made of white metal and was struck on an uncommonly thick planchet for the Virginia Agricultural, Mechanical & Tobacco Exposition, which was held in Richmond from October 3, 1888 to November 21, 1888. It is also an un-holed example. Its surfaces are semi-proof-like, with flashy fields and boldly struck design details that exhibit a good amount of frost. Its eye appeal is far nicer in hand than I was able to capture in my photos. This medal is one of only two examples that have been graded MS-62 by NGC and is a top pop example. Its overall rarity is listed as R7 (11-20 known).
