Owner Comments:

San Joaquin County, California has had four official courthouses since 1854 and this medal was struck to commemorate the dedication in 1891 of San Joaquin County’s second and most renowned courthouse of the four. At the time it was built and for years after, it was considered the most beautiful courthouse in California. This medal is made of aluminum and exhibits proof like surfaces. It is 1 of 2 examples that NGC has graded MS-62 proof-like. Only 2 others have been graded higher at MS-63 proof-like. The overall rarity is R6 (21-75 known).
