This medal was struck as an Official Medal for a three-day celebration of the centennial of the first meeting of South Carolina’s General Assembly. It was a very limited issue, which undoubtedly contributes to its overall rarity of R7 (11-20 known). It is made of white metal and is a stunning example. It is one of only five that NGC has graded, is the only deep proof-like example that they have graded and at MS-64 DPL, is the finest known example by two grade points.
