Owner Comments:

In my opinion, the Type I Albany Bicentennial medals are by far the nicer of the two designs that were struck to commemorate Albany’s Bicentennial. This Type I example is made of bronze and is a gorgeous piece. Its rich chocolate surfaces are both well struck and basically mark free to the naked eye. Of the 11 examples of HK-601A that have been graded by NGC, this piece is 1 of only 3 that has made the top pop grade of MS-66. The overall rarity is R6 (21-75 known).
