Owner Comments:

This piece is made of white metal and was struck on a large (45mm), thick planchet. Its obverse features an extremely high relief bust of George Washington facing left, and its reverse depicts the Washington Monument in its center surrounded by facts about the monument. It is very well struck, with all design details being needle sharp. Its surfaces are deep proof-like and exhibit beautiful black and white contrast between the devices and fields. Its luster is outstanding. Simply put, this is a stunning example of a HK-145 Washington Monument Dedication medal. NGC has graded this medal MS-65 DPL (1/0). No other example has been graded higher by any grading service, making this piece is the finest known example. This overall rarity is R6 (21-75 known).
