Ok, to start this whole series was probably unnecessary. Honestly the fights in the Avengers vs X-Men series were highlights enough, not to mention the fights in the other add-on's. But even so here it is.
Round 1 "Fight"
When I first picked a reader copy of this one up all I pictured was Mortal Kombat style fatalities and everything that comes with those. But not so much.
First fight is between Ironman and Magneto. Fitting they would make the one guy with metal in his name to fight the one guy who controls it as the premiere fight. And oh no Ironman's not actually made of Iron... yeah didn't see that coming.
The art in this starter was good, and the writing was better but the way Ironman *Spoiler Alert* wins this one just didn't sit right with me. This is a guy in an advanced suit fighting a guy on his home base with metal everywhere around and he still cna't pull out the W??? Oh well.
Next fight was ok but honestly felt like the add-on stories you get after the first story and not so much as a main plot line. Neither the Thing or Namor interest me but the back story of the two in comics prior to this one were interesting.
Here, not so much. Overall I wasn't to impressed by the way Avengers seem to pull out the win's but again chalk this up to the Avengers movie coming out and the need to make sure they win and seem dominant for promotional purposes.
The photo posted is simply the cover and hopefully I can pick something else up to make this series really pop.

So the two featured fights in this one were ok.
The first kinda sets the ground work for what happens later on in the Avengers vs X-Men storyline where Colonix crush's Spider-Man before he utilizes his Jedi mind power and gets the two to attack each other. Still don't see Spider-man being anything more than a nuisance to Colossusnaut but he at least chooses the smart thing at the end of the fight and runs.
As for the Gambit vs. Captain America this was more of a yawn for me. Figured Gambit was going to lose because a shield being thrown at someone beats alot of explosions but whatever. Red White &Blue, Red White & Blue...

So this one had some better fights.
Magik has been a preferred character as she's an evil girl who does good things. And who wouldn't be if they were basically trapped in Hell or Limbo or where ever for most of there life. And she has a light saber... she's Marvels answer to Jedi.
As for Colossunaut vs. Thing, I love seeing Thing getting punched around. His whole clobbering thing is funnier knowing he's the one being clobbered.

Have you ever wanted to simply punch the wife cause she was back talking. Yes but No. T'Challa gets to live through this fantasy. Great little tit for tat I was ready for you fight between the two and when they apply for a divorce both have a good reason aside from irreconcilable differences.
As for Hawkeye and Angel I enjoyed this one but... I really wish they gave Angel his mind back. The lost school boy act is some what disheartening after having followed him since the pages of X-Factor and especially during his Uncanny X-Force run.

So this one was a cool cover. I do like the way the variants were made with the idea of the fight posters like in the past but wish that these were simply the regular covers and the variants were more of an in-depth art of the two main fighters. An example of this would have been on my Uncanny X-Men Vol. 2 #11 CGC.
On it there's a pretty wicked art posting of Colossus in all his greatness vs the Red Hulk with art by Greg Land. This normally isn't an artist that I follow but after one look at the cover I knew I was going to send it away as soon as I saw it.
So back to this cover. It's kinda simple kinda plain but overall part of the series and for me this is one of the ones I want to have completed.
Also one of the ones I got back a little late so the image will be up once I go on leave.

So I don't see this one going as well as Marvel did.
This is Hope the mutant who can be any mutant and then perfects there powers vs the woman who says no more and it happens. Shouldn't be much of a fight and had it not been broken up early it probably wouldn't have been.
Best fight though, Jarvis vs. Toad hands down.
